Following the storm-related cancellation last month of the Wood River Health Services Community Awards Breakfast, the health center will honor its awardees – a dedicated volunteer, a community healthcare powerhouse and the local Rotary Club – in smaller, more intimate gatherings
The health center will present its Community Partner Award to Louis Giancola, Pres. & CEO of South County Health, for his leadership in the Washington County Health Equity Zone coalition called Healthy Bodies, Healthy Minds and its subgroup that focuses on behavioral healthcare in the county, among other efforts.
Rotary Club of Chariho will receive the Community Service Award for its good works throughout the area, and particularly for its continuing support of Wood River Health. The award will be presented at an upcoming club meeting.
Recently “retired” volunteer Angela Camp will also be honored with the health center’s Appreciation Award for excellence in volunteerism. Staff hopes to invite Angela to a celebration during the holiday season.
